Led Zeppelin And Solitaire
I like to zone out now and then playing solitaire on the computer and listening to music . Last night I was doing just that .I found a bunch of classic Led Zeppelin songs .As I listened to them , realized how timelessly classic they were . The music is just as awesome as the first time I heard it . The lyrics are as relevant today as they were " back in the day" . The talent, amazing .
I heard Led Zeppelin growing up and it was like back ground music to life , you know , you hear something but don't really pay that much attention to it ? Their music was in all the disco's and club that we went to , but again , I just heard it , not felt it .My nephews and kids actually were the ones that truly introduced me to Led Zeppelin. Same thing with Pink Floyd , but that is another story for another time .
How crazy is it to " discover ' something that has been around for years in your life and yet never noticed . Anyway ,I thought I would share with you one of my favorite tunes by Led Zeppelin, "Kashmir" , played unplugged in concert on MTV . I think this is the way the song was meant to sound in the beginning . It makes me think of Libya's wadis , or dry river beds, that come to life only in the rainy season.

Modern Life
When I bought my Blackberry I thought about the 30-year business I ran with 1800 employees, all without a cell phone that plays music, takes videos, pictures and communicates with Facebook and Twitter. I signed up under duress for Twitter and Facebook, so my seven kids, their spouses, 13 grand kids and 2 great grand kids could communicate with me in the modern way. I figured I could handle something as simple as Twitter with only 140 characters of space.
My phone was beeping every three minutes with the details of everything except the bowel movements of the entire next generation. I am not ready to live like this. I keep my cell phone in the garage in my golf bag.
The kids bought me a GPS for my last birthday because they say I get lost every now and then going over to the grocery store or library. I keep that in a box under my tool bench with the Blue tooth [it's red] phone I am supposed to use when I drive. I wore it once and was standing in line at Barnes and Noble talking to my wife and everyone in the nearest 50 yards was glaring at me. I had to take my hearing aid out to use it, and I got a little loud.
I mean the GPS looked pretty smart on my dash board, but the lady inside that gadget was the most annoying, rudest person I had run into in a long time. Every 10 minutes, she would sarcastically say, "Re-calc-ul-ating." You would think that she could be nicer. It was like she could barely tolerate me. She would let go with a deep sigh and then tell me to make a U-turn at the next light. Then if I made a right turn instead well, it was not a good relationship.
When I get really lost now, I call my wife and tell her the name of the cross streets and while she is starting to develop the same tone as Gypsy, the GPS lady, at least she loves me.
To be perfectly frank, I am still trying to learn how to use the cordless phones in our house. We have had them for 4 years, but I still haven't figured out how I can lose three phones all at once and have run around digging under chair cushions and checking bathrooms and the dirty laundry baskets when the phone rings.
The world is just getting too complex for me. They even mess me up every time I go to the grocery store. You would think they could settle on something themselves but this sudden "Paper or Plastic?" every time I check out just knocks me for a loop. I bought some of those cloth reusable bags to avoid looking confused, but I never remember to take them in with me.
Now I toss it back to them. When they ask me, "Paper or Plastic?" I just say, "Doesn't matter to me. I am bi-sacksual." Then it's their turn to stare at me with a blank look.
I was recently asked if I tweet. I answered, "No, but I do toot a lot."

A Home In The Woods
Woke up to find it nice and cool . It rained yesterday early evening , yeah ! Hopefully it will rain some more . It looks like it will , it is still cloudy . Love the rain . It made me think of home , in the fall . Home being the USA in this case .
I found this painting . It is named "Home In The Woods" and it is by painter Michael S. Parkes . It reminded me of when I was a teenager growing up , we had land in the piney woods of east Texas . Several others in our family had land in the same place . It was a favorite place of ours to go . We cleared the land by hand of the underbrush and small trees . Hard work , but good work .We would camp there sometimes in the summer with my sister and her children . Going for long walks to gather firewood to cook with on a camp fire. Swimming in the community pool, or the small lake near by . My sisters land backed up to a national forest , or maybe it was a state forest , don't remember which right now, but anyway ,we would some times see deer, bear , and once even a cougar . So cool .A real paradise .
I want to wish a dear friend a very Happy Birthday today . Happy Birthday Khadijateri !!! I know you are so excited you're finally 15 years old today ! Love you !! Hoping your day is special and your new year magical!!!

Pop Muslim
recently recommended this new ( to me anyway ) web site that gives you the Muslim news of the day . It is called " Pop Muslim ". Here is a introduction to the web page :
Here’s a list of links and sources (by no means definitive) I’ve compiled after being asked for these things countless times; I think they’re a useful place to start. But please keep in mind: books go out of print, sites change, hairstyles change, interest rates fluctuate*, and I do not always know nor endorse everything you’ll find at all these places. But hopefully you’ll find it useful. And it’ll save you perusing sites like www.theterrifyingtruthaboutthetoxicreligionofislam.com. For example.
You might also want to try your library for these books (your local university library will probably have them, and you can just pop in there and read them without joining up), try Google books to see if you can read any online for free, and also get them secondhand via Amazon or other sellers if price is an issue. Lastly, I don’t get any $$$ for these links or recs."
I really like this site . I hope you do too and find something that will clear the " Muslim Fog " that is going on out there in Cyberspace . Check it out !

What's In A Name
I love my name . It is a boys name . I think it lends strength and character to a girl or woman to have such a name . Now days it has become more popular as a girls name , but growing up in the 50's and 60's it wasn't a " normal " girls name .When I entered into middle school and high school , I would find myself scheduled into the boys gym classes at the beginning of every year .That was fun , lol .
Today , as I opened my emails , I noticed my spam box was full .I looked at it and it was full of notices to buy Viagra pills ,penile enhancers , creams promising to make me preform like an animal , or make things stand up to attention. All sorts of letters addressed to Mr. Me promising me if I would only buy their products I would be the most virile man on earth and any woman I wanted would fall at my feet .
I laugh when I see these adds . I wonder , do real men fall for such outrageous lies ? Are there any real men that are so desperate that they would buy any of these products ? I truly hope not . But in the meantime , I just click on Delete Forever ... until the next time I look in the spam box .
The On Goging Saga
Moe isn't doing any better on the new mads .If anything , he seems to be getting worse . His appointment date is coming soon , so will wait until then .... if things stay the same with him . He is scared . I am scared . It is so difficult to sit back and watch some one you love and care for suffer in pain .
Moe is not a " whinner ". He never complains . This makes it much harder to know when he needs his extra meds , as he just won't say he is in pain . This in turn leads to me asking him every 5 minutes , " Are you in pain "? This just irrates him to no end and he lies to me, says no , rather rudly , at times , lol I might add. So , I have now become a face reader . I read the little lines that creep up around his eyes as he scrunches them in pain , when he thinks I am not looking at him . Or maybe the way he will tighten his fits into a ball as they lay in his lap , he thinks , out of my sight .He just can't seem to get it into his head that it is OK to say he is in pain and that he may have meds to STOP the pain .I guess when it comes to this subject , he is from the John Wayne school of thought ... Real Men Don't Show Their Pain, sigh !!!
I am afraid to leave him alone for any length of time . I am afraid that if his chest pains get worse if he is alone, he won't take his pills unless I am there brough beat him into taking them .This has happened before . I was on the computer in the other room from the one he was in , and I just walked into the living room to find him all gasping , clutching his chest in pain . I got his pills for him and had to MAKE HIM TAKE THEM , OMG ! He never thought to take them on his own . What to do ?Anyway, that time it all worked out fine . If he is out and about with a family member or his friends , I don't worry . Maybe I should , but I am ASSUMING ( and we all KNOW what happenes when one assumes things ) that they would help him .
We have had a new baby born , a wedding , and one funeral this last week in the neighborhood and everyone is angery with me for not coming , but besides the fact that it is dufficult for me to sitt that long in a chair without putting my leg up ,they just don't understand that I can't leave Moe unattened for so long on his own .I explain , they give me looks , I explain some more . I get more looks and finally I say something rude and they back off . I really hate to be like that , but you would think they would try to be more understanding of our situation as well .All the while , everyone thinks I am making this all up .
I have mentioned about Moe being ill here and on my FaceBook page for a while now , haven't I ? But all of the sudden Moe's brother's and sister's have " discovered" he is ill and is calling to see how he is . Well , that is nice and it cheers Moe up to know that they care for him , BUT ... it's not as if this is a news flash or something .I have told them he was ill face to face , but it was like and ???? But now it is out there in cyberspace , well ... it has become a OMG thing . LOL! It's sorta funny to me .
So , we are just taking things slow and easy , one day at a time . No plans , nap a lot ( so he will rest) , go for lazy drives in the country , and I try to keep my mouth shut and not nag him . Well , what are you laughing about ? It could happen ! I really hope things in your life are going smoothly for you and bring you joy . OTE

The New Fusion Music Of Today
Last night Moe and I were watching David Letterman again , who had a group named "Mark Ronson and The Business International " as the musical guest . We both really liked them . I think of them as a example of a emerging new genre of what I call today's "new fusion music". Not jazz, so much as a fusion of Rap meets the old style" New Wave" of the 70's , early 80's , with echos of the progressive power band music of the likes of" Emerson , Lake , Palmer/Powell.".Here , you judge for yourself what you think .Enjoy .

Continuous Chest Compression CPR And Moe's Update
Moe has had some ISSUES with his heart lately . We have seen several heart specialist at the Tajura Heart Hospital in the past several weeks . They have put him on new meds . So far they haven't been too sucsesful .He still experiences pain in his chest at the oddest times .This is making me a nervous wreck . I can't stand to see anyone suffer in pain .But we are being patient and waiting to see if the meds will eventually work . In the mean time , I have been thinking a lot about the ' what if " thing , like "what if he has a heart attack and I am all alone with him " , what would I do ? There isn't a 911 number you can call for help in Libya . And forget about calling for a ambulance to come help you . So , when a friend sent me this video , I said to myself ... " Shazam !This is what I need to do, IF the IF FACTOR comes into play ." You should watch it too . you never know when it might come in handy .And P.S. ..... the darn spell check refuses to work ... again . I really wish google would fix that !
